DESCRIPTION:Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) is a carbon capture process in which finely ground silicate rocks are applied to soils to absorb CO₂. For smallholder farmers in the Global South\, ERW offers benefits like improved soil health\, increased yields\, and income opportunities from carbon credits while supporting long-term carbon sequestration. \nOne CASH member\, alongside technical partners\, has completed an ERW project\, another is currently implementing an ERW trial\, and at least one more is planning pilot projects. Precision Development (PxD)\, a strategic CASH partner\, together with the Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development\, has led groundbreaking research on ERW applications in smallholder settings. \nThis Peer-to-Peer Learning Session will gather CASH members and partners to exchange insights from smallholder-focused ERW projects across Sub-Saharan Africa\, South Asia\, and South America. The session will allow participants to explore ERW project scope\, share learnings\, and identify challenges and collaboration opportunities. By connecting key stakeholders and projects\, the session aims to expand the ERW practitioner network\, gauge interest in joint actions\, and explore ways to support climate and livelihood benefits through smallholder ERW applications. \nConfirmed presenters: PxD (Global Research Perspective)\, SEKEM (trials in Egypt)\, Terradot (ERW projects in Brazil\, MRV software)\, and Flux (projects in Africa\, including a potential project with a CASH member).
